Short Biography (136 words)

Caspar Craven: Author of The Big Bold Mindset®, Twice Round-the-World Sailor

Caspar Craven is the author of The Big Bold Mindset® and a globally recognised voice on how leaders and teams think and perform when the stakes are high. His work is shaped by a rare combination of senior corporate leadership and extreme real-world experience.

He has served as CFO of a technology business sold to private equity, worked as an Associate Director at KPMG, and later co-founded, scaled, and successfully sold his own technology company. Alongside this, Caspar has twice sailed round the world, first as a team leader on a trophy-winning racing yacht in the BT Global Challenge, and later as captain of his family team sailing for two years with his wife and three young children.

These experiences underpin the practical, human-centred leadership insights he brings to organisations navigating change, complexity, and pressure.

Long Biography (229 words)

Caspar Craven: Author of The Big Bold Mindset®, Twice Round-the-World Sailor

Caspar Craven is a leading authority on the mindset required to achieve Big Bold Goals through effective leadership and teamwork.

He understands firsthand the importance of putting people first to succeed, lessons learned the hard way. Along the journey, he has made mistakes, tackled extreme challenges, and lived the experiences he now shares with leaders and teams around the world.

Caspar has twice sailed round the world. The first was as a team leader on a trophy-winning racing yacht in the BT Global Challenge in 2000/01. The second was as captain of his family team, sailing for two years with his wife and three young children under the age of ten. Navigating uncertainty, pressure, and performance at sea became the ultimate leadership laboratory.

His business experience includes five years at KPMG, serving as CFO of a technology company sold to private equity, and co-founding and scaling a second technology business that was successfully exited to a global technology company. He is currently part of a team building a technology company in the climate change sector.

Caspar is driven by helping leaders and teams think bigger. Without bold thinking, organisations default to incremental change, and incremental change rarely leads to breakthrough. Real progress only happens when people fully commit to big, bold ambition.

A bestselling Bloomsbury author, Caspar has written The Big Bold Mindset® and Be More Human. Through years of research, interviews, and lived experience, he has studied what truly differentiates the most successful leaders.

Success leaves clues. Caspar brings those patterns, insights, and stories to organisations to create a transformational experience, not just a talk.

“A privilege to have Caspar present at our Financial Services kick-off event at BAE. Caspar is an excellent example of how an ‘ordinary’ person can achieve the ‘extraordinary’; through thinking ‘big and bold’! He will inspire and motivate all!”

Garry Harrison | Global Managing Director of Banking, Capital Markets + Insurance, BAE Systems Inc.
